i am just going through alphs blog and im doing the power supply mod.
ive noticed that when he has relocated the power connector he wires from pin 5 on the connector to hole 4 where the power connector originally was
am i right in assuming that pins 4 and 5 are exactly the same and i dont need to worry about crossing them over in this way?!?
obviuosly im taking great care not to blow up anther 64 ![]()
its a c64c that im modding just to clarify.
thanks

This pinout shows that pin 4 is not connected, and pin 5 is the 5V.

If this doesn't help, let us know and I'll have a look at Alpha's page (no time ATM).

Thanks for the reply.
Maybe the reason there is a cable connected to hole 4 is because of this taken from alpha's page:-
"pins six and seven are not to be considered equal, unlike group one-two-three or group four-five"
does this mean pin 4 and 5 are the same??

Have you not got a multimeter?
The diagram is correct.

This page indicates pin 4 is sometimes 5V, sometimes not.

What I don't understand is on the picture of the underside of the board with the wires, there is a wire soldered to pin 4 where the power connector was originally . the other end of that wire is soldered to pin 5 where the power connector has been relocated. How can that work? Different power supply to the original one maybe? I dunno?!?
